Reversible Smock Style Dress

Ella's first birthday was A Very Hungry Caterpillar theme. I made her this dress to wear to her party. The only thing missing in these pictures are her buttons. This was my first garment I have ever made. :)

The fabric from the Eric Carle quilting line. There are little bloomers as well that don't show in the picture. The caterpillar and butterfly were on a quilting panel, that I cut out and appliqued on.
The pattern is a Butterick pattern, I don't remember the pattern #. I found that the pattern ran big.

  2. Where did you purchase the Eric Carle quilting line fabric? Online? or does Joann fabric have it?

  8. Wow! my three year old is fascinated with caterpillars and asked me to make her a caterpillar dress. I am going to buy material and maybe even my own appliques if I cannot find this hungry caterpillar pattern. The pattern I have is Butterick 3772 size 1,2,3 it is a Fast and easy with only 2 pieces not counting the facing. I am just using the dress pattern for the interfacing and thereby making a reversible dress. Can't wait to get started!!

  9. I ordered SKU # 5280-M from Fatquarters.com and it was shipped in 3 days from ordering day. I ordered the wrong one and called and they even swapped it in that time. The caterpillar and butterfly are gorgeous.
